Christmas in October {Studio Calico Cuppa Kits}

Hello everyone, it's reveal day at Studio Calico! The Creative Team galleries are already live and subscribers can start shopping at presale. Since it's only eight weeks until Christmas (eek!), I thought, I start blogging my holiday projects first.

This first card below could easily be my favorite from the bunch I made this month. I'm all for non-tradional colors when it comes to Christmas cards :) The chevron pattern in the background was build with the sheer washi tape in add-on Chai. Then, I die-cut a tree using the card kit digital stamp files and a patterned paper (also from Chai) with the Silhouette Cameo. Next, I threaded some coconut shell buttons from the card main on a piece of hemp twine and tied it around the card and into a bow. To finish the card off, I used the speech bubble stamp and a star pin from card add-on Cinnamon.

My tip for the star pins: I rather err on the side of caution with these pins and opted for sticking it behind the tree right into the foam tabs so only the star is visible. After all you don't want to incidentally harm your recipient, right?!

This month, instead of patterned papers, the card add-on, Cinnamon, includes a set of three kraft cardbases and envelopes. I wanted to make them into a set of clean and simple Christmas cards that you could easily replicate for mass production.

The bigger sentiments in the stamp set (beautifully designed by Mama Elephant) are perfect for this CAS approach and look just beautiful heat embossed with white embossing powder. The snowflake was die-cut using the 2013 December Daily digital files and Silhouette Printable Cotton Canvas.

For a little more oomph on the canvas, I used clear Stardust Stickles for the snowflake on the card above. Love how sparkly it is!

That's it from me today - check out all the Cuppa kit projects in the gallery if you can. I had a quick glance and dare say you're in for some eye candy! Happy Sunday!
