Just before the January SC kit reveal rolls around, I thought I'd post a last project, a gift tag, with the
Blue Note card kit. I made a similar card before and needed a cute tag to dress up a simple kraft bag in which I wanted to hand over the birthday present. The cool thing about these kinds of projects is that contrary to cards you do not need to think about thickness/mailability and can go all crazy. This is what I ended up with:
I always liked the spiral flowers that were so popular some time ago but never got around to make some until now. I just made a little amendment and cut a double spiral for the flower to be a little flatter and kind of more artistic. If you want to attempt making your own, I've documented the process along the way as good as the dull winter light let me.
First, what you want to do is to cut a circle from patterned paper. It doesn't have to be perfectly round, just eyeball it. Then you want to cut the circle into a spiral from the outside all the way in until you are left with a penny size circle on the inside.
After you are done with first spiral, cut it in half like I've shown on the image above.
Next, you'll want to roll the paper spiral around a pencil or some tweezers and your left with a cute little spiral rose. Now it's up to you to leave it that way and glue/staple the ends down or loosen and spread the strings out. Lastly, find a cute button to adhere in the center of your flower and you're done!
I hope you liked the little project. Thanks for stopping by today - hope to see you tomorrow for reveal of the
Copper Mountain kits!
